Organization: International Organization for Migration (IOM) Department: UN-IOM Location: Islamabad, Pakistan Job Type: Special Short Term (Day Shift) Deadline: April 16, 2024

Job Description:

This position is responsible for supporting data collection, management, and analysis related to migration and human mobility in Pakistan. You will work under the supervision of the Programme Manager (DTM) and perform the following duties:

• Develop, improve, and maintain digital data collection tools.
• Verify and cross-check data received from the field.
• Maintain research results database.
• Compile, clean, organize, and secure migration data.
• Assist in developing information products like dashboards.
• Train and coach field teams on data collection methods.
• Identify and address information management gaps.
• Ensure data confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Information Management, IT, Computer Science, GIS (3 years experience) OR
• Secondary school diploma in IT, CS, GIS (5 years experience)
• Experience with developing data collection tools, data quality check, and analysis.
• Experience with database management and information product development.
• GIS or spatial visualization experience is a plus.
• Experience working with UN or international organizations on human mobility (a plus).

Skills:

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong computer literacy in data management and information production.
• Ability to analyze diverse data related to human mobility.
• Experience with programming languages like HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. (preferred).
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.

Languages:

• Required: English fluency and Urdu fluency (written and spoken).
• Desirable: Working knowledge of other Pakistani languages (Pashto, Punjabi, Balochi).
